Welcome to Retford Swimming Club

The qualification window for entry to the British Summer Championships and home nation’s championships closed on 29 May. Congratulations to Tom Deeley, Jess Gillatt, Tom Johnstone and Tash Utley who received emails on 1 June inviting them to submit their entries. Read more . . .

Tom Deeley has qualified for 2 events at the British Summer Championships (400m Freestyle and 1500m Freestyle) and one at the National Summer Meet (400m IM).

Jess Gillat has qualified for one event at the National Summer Meet (50m Breaststroke).

Tom Johnstone has qualified for one event at the National Summer Meet (50m Butterfly).

Tash Utley has qualified for 2 events at the National Summer Meet (200m Butterfly and 400m IM).

The East Midlands Youth Championships (age 14 years and over) were held at Ponds Forge, Sheffield over the weekend of 27 – 29 May. Retford were represented by 5 swimmers: Tom Deeley, Jess Gillatt, Mia Hunt, Tom Johnstone and Tash Utley, all of whom train with Bassetlaw Swim Squad. Izzy Hobson-Corbett, Callum Kettlewell and Megan Speirs joined their team-mates on the final day to compete in the distance events (men’s 1500m freestyle, women’s 800m freestyle The Retford squad produced some superb swims and were rewarded with excellent results. Retford member Cole Hewitt, competing with his performance club, Nova Centurion, also enjoyed a successful weekend. Cole reached 6 finals and won Gold for both his 50m and 100m butterfly.

The final round of the Grantham Grand Prix took place on Saturday 6 May and once again there were fantastic performances from the Retford swimmers. New personal best times were achieved, trophies were collected and meet records were set! Read more . . .
